1. Scan the QR code below with your mobile phone's browser and download the 'VgateFwUpdater' app
[attachment=41]
2. Open Settings - Bluetooth - Connect 'vLinker MC-Android' (not required for iOS), if it is WiFi connect WiFi will work
(vLinker MC+/MC/MC WiFi can all be upgraded using the same method, just connect to Bluetooth name or WiFi differently)
3. Open the 'VgateFwUpdater' app and click on 'SCAN' to continue scanning the same QR code as in step 1
4. Choose Bluetooth or WiFi, depending on your device
5. Click 'DOWNLOAD' and wait for it to upgrade successfully, don't pull out the adapter in the middle.
I am using an iOS device and I did all of these steps and the firmware updater app will get to the end saying it succeeded, but when I check the Bluetooth adapter again it’s still at 2.0.84 versus 2.2.84. I have tried re-running the update multiple times and same result every single time. What am I missing? What do I do to get the new firmware to take?
Some additional details: in case it helps I’m running iOS 16.5 and the device is a vLinker MC+.
I scan the the QR code in the instruction booklet, it identifies the right device.
I then select download and the ‘circle bar’ goes all the way around in about a minute or so and then it says Status: Succeeded.
If I select download again, it tells me that the old firmware is still on there v2.0.84 and I go through the same process again. I have also tried removing the scanner after it says Succeeded. and then plugging it back in, in case it needs a reboot for new firmware to take effect. Same result (says older firmware is on there).

Thank you for the reply I think the main issue is that there is both a device and application version and they are slightly different and what I was initiially seeing as the "old version" was just the device version and it successfully updated the application verison. I re-confirmed this with the windows app as you noted above.

I think I'm all set.

Hello
Glad I could help you
Hi, I experienced the same upgrade issue as exactly as AGThang described.
I am using Bluetooth 4.0 version paring with an Android phone.
I upgraded (many times) but the version is still 2.0.84 (not 2.2.84).

Please clarify what is "device version" and what is "adapter version" ?
The QR-Code upgrade in this thread means to upgrade device version or adapter version or the so called "firmware version" ?

Hello.
2.0.84 means the version of the chip, 2.2.84 means the version of the product, when the firmware version is updated the version of the chip will also be updated at the same time, both of them are the same, as long as the trailing number is the same, it is the same version.
You can check the firmware version and chip version in windows.
Thanks for your reply.
Is it true I can check firmware version in the 'VgateFwUpdater' App instead of Windows ?

I got below App screen.  Does it mean currently I have chip (device) version 2.0.84 and product version 2.2.84 ?
The "trailing number" is 84, correct ?  So they are in "same version" and everything alright  ?

In conclusion, my vLinker MC+ is already latest version and so no upgrade is needed ?

hello
As you can see in your screenshot, the chip version is the same as the tail number of the firmware version, and the chip is updated at the same time every time the firmware is updated.
Your vLinker MC+ is already the most up-to-date version.
