No Connection from Vgate iCar Pro WiFi & iCar Pro 2S to Bosch ME17.9.11 in Hyundaii30 - hmdwrn - 10-01-2025 Hello everyone, I am using two Vgate adapters: iCar Pro WiFi iCar Pro 2S (Bluetooth) Both adapters work flawlessly in other vehicles: connection is established immediately, error codes and live data can be retrieved. My smartphone also pairs without any issues (WiFi or Bluetooth). Problem: In my Hyundai i30 with Bosch ME17.9.11 (part number 39112-2B125), no connection to the ECU can be established. Tested with various OBD apps (Torque, CarScanner, etc.), result is always the same: “ECU not found.” The adapters themselves and the smartphone are fully functional. The issue occurs exclusively with the Vgate iCar ↔ Bosch ME17.9.11 combination. Question to the community: Are there known limitations, protocol issues, or solutions for this ECU/adapter combination? Thank you in advance! You may wish to contact the developers of the Car Scanner app. RE: No Connection from Vgate iCar Pro WiFi & iCar Pro 2S to Bosch ME17.9.11 in Hyundaii30 - nickytom - 10-15-2025 Likely a protocol mismatch — your Hyundai’s ECU uses K-Line, which Vgate adapters often don’t fully support. Try a genuine ELM327 or OBDLink model. Human Expenditure Program RE: No Connection from Vgate iCar Pro WiFi & iCar Pro 2S to Bosch ME17.9.11 in Hyundaii30 - Slous1965 - 10-28-2025 Thanks for sharing! Seems like many people have the same problem with Bosch ME17.9.11. I will try ELM327.99 nights in the forest RE: No Connection from Vgate iCar Pro WiFi & iCar Pro 2S to Bosch ME17.9.11 in Hyundaii30 - henryjohn - 12-02-2025 Your problem is not due to a broken VGATE, but because the Bosch ME17.9.11 ECU on the Hyundai i30 has protocol and security limitations. To connect, you need a more specialized device and cannot use a common OBD-II adapter. capybara clicker |
