Cant connect to android head unit - Rv8flyboy - 09-05-2024

Bought a pro ble 4.0, updated the firmware. Tried pairing to android (13) head unit in my car, it shows up as available but does not pair using 1234 ( or 0000, had to try).

It connects fine using 1234, to my android phone, also running android 13, using jscan

Went in the setup, using the qr code from my now connected phone and tried to change the protocol to BT(android), or any other of the choices, but when i click update, after a few seconds the progress bar turns red and i get a red X.

Same for trying BT BLE, in short it wont let me try other protocols.

How do i connect, pair, the adapter to my android head unit?

I have the obdlink MX and the MX+ adapters succesfully linked to the same head unit, just not the pro ble 4.0

1. In some car bluetooth there is a default pairing code “0000”, while our pairing code is “1234”, you need to find the default pairing code to set to “1234”.

2.OBDlink MX+ is a BT3.0 MFI product, its pairing code is randomly generated each time, do not need to enter their own, so it can be paired!

3.VgateFwUpdater's function of modifying the connection mode only applies to vLinker FS BT/MS BT and iCar Pro 2S, it only applies to the recently developed products, because there was no such function in the past, and the hardware can't support it, so it can't be used on the iCar Pro.

I DID set it to 1234, it did not pair to android radio.

It did pair to phone with 1234

Have you changed the default pairing code in the car to 1234?
Does it still not pair with the device?
What model of car phone do you have?
