Change bluetooth password - rafff - 03-11-2025
I ask if it is possible and how to change the bluetooth password because the default password "1234" is too weak.
The device is equipped with automatic sleep mode after 30 minutes from the vehicle shutdown, but during those 30 minutes an attacker could easily connect from outside the car to the vgate. This is a serious security risk.

Sorry, the Bluetooth module can't modify the pairing code, the device sleep time is 15 minutes, you can modify the Bluetooth sleep time to 5 minutes, if you need, please contact support@vgate.com.cn

Changing the PIN would be ideal, but without Vgate stepping up, you’re left with workarounds. Unplugging’s your safest bet—don’t give that 30-minute window to anyone with a phone and "1234" up their sleeve. If you crack the firmware tweak, share it—that’d be a game-changer!
