Did you ever resolve this issue? I have exactly the same problem and cannot update my vLinker FS adapter with old or new firmware, using the firmware updater tool from the website. I get the same error messages above when trying to update my adapter, and a brief yellow LED lights up on the adapter, but then nothing happens other than the error message saying Failed. This is using a USB 2.0 port on my laptop without being plugged into the car. I have tried multiple USB ports, multiple versions of the firmware, multiple FTDI drivers, but I can only assume at this point that my adapter MIC3322 chip is faulty and will not be read or written to.

I flashed an older beta version of the firmware to mine and was then able to update it. I've attached a copy of it in a reply to a post you made in another thread.

If the update fails, you will need to power down the device and then re-upgrade.
