  When I plug my new Vgate iCar Pro Wi-fi into the OBD2 connector of my 2006 gas powered vehicle it works fine.  But after shutting the car off the Vgate device successfully goes to sleep but will not wake up when I re-start the car.  All LED lights remain off.  Only when I remove the device from the OBD2 connector and plug it back in does the device turn back on.

  The iCar Pro WiFi wakes up with bus data, so if you don't have bus data when your car is switched on, it may not wake up!
